Shock Add King, Tevaga to 2012 Roster

Spokane, WA - The Spokane Shock announced that LB Micah King and OL Shannon Tevaga have re-assigned to the team. In other roster moves, DB Marquise Charles was placed on re-assignment, while DL Jeremy Geathers and OL Chet Teofilo were placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. DL Pierre Walters has been activated from the PUP list.

King, 5-11 240, played in 15 games last season and collected 40 tackles – including 2.5 sacks – with three pass break-ups and a fumble recovery for the Shock. In 2010, his AFL rookie season, King registered 43 tackles – including 5.5 sacks – with one fumble recovery (that was returned for a touchdown) as a member of the Iowa Barnstormers.

“Micah King is an outstanding person and a veteran who can play a lot of different positions for us on defense,” General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden explained. “He proved to be a valuable player for us last year and we are happy to have him back for the upcoming season.”

Tevaga, 6-3 315, spent his rookie season with Spokane last year and helped anchor the Shock’s offensive line. Tevaga was placed on the IR-list earlier in the season, but once he was healthy he made an instant impact earning the starting position in all seven of the games he played.

“Shannon is another proven veteran. He picked up the Arena game very quickly last year as a rookie,” Rigmaiden said. “He’s a tough, physical lineman, who will provide great protection for our quarterback.”

Head Coach Andy Olson will host the team’s first inter-squad scrimmage tomorrow starting at 11 AM. Players and Coaches will be available for interviews upon request after the scrimmage.
